We have been conditioned by our parents to understand that, unless we are humble (meaning, not wanting too much money), we are not going to be happy in our life. In Brazil, where I come from, there is also a saying "money does not bring happiness" and I can honestly say that many Brazilians still believe that even though they don't have anything (not only due to their own poverty, but their lack of understanding that luck has little or almost nothing to do with being succesful), they are still happy, because they can "sunbathe, have a beer and a song, together with good food and company". I am trying to take this stigma out of my life and going through some changes in the last year has helped a lot. The mindset is now different. I want a lot and I will not stop until I get it. This does not mean that I will be "mean to others", that I will ignore friendships and all people that need my support emotionally. On the contrary: in my viewpoint, if I have a lot of money, then I can do much more to many, many people, without feeling guilty.
